Romantic Valentine Gifts For Your Valentine On Valentine Day

Find Your Valentine.

Inexpensive Valentine Gift Ideas

By Susanne Myers

Over the past few decades, Valentine's Day has gone from a fun little romantic holiday into a fully commercialized day that's all about buying expensive flowers and even jewelry. Gone are the days where this day was about showing how much you cared about one another, or is it? With a little creativity, you can come up with some very unique and inexpensive valentine gift ideas.

Make Your Own Cards

Buying a pretty Valentine's Day Card has gotten expensive. Make your own card by digging through the craft box. All you need is a sheet of cardstock or even construction paper and a few decorations. Write a personal message on and inside the card. Dig through some old pictures and find one of the two of you. Cut out a heart shape from red or pink construction paper and cute a whole inside, just big enough to fit the picture. Glue the picture on the card, then glue the heart on top of it. Use other heart shapes, stickers, markers, glitter and any other crafting supplies you have lying around to finish the card.

Homemade Treats

You're also not stuck with having to buy expensive boxed chocolates. Surprise your sweetheart this year with some homemade treats instead. Dip some large strawberries in melted dark chocolate and allow them to dry on some wax paper. Sprinkle some chopped nuts or coconut flakes on the chocolate before it dries. Or allow it to harden and then melt some white chocolate. Pour the melted white chocolate into a Ziploc bag. Make small hole in the corner of the bag and use it to drizzle white chocolate over your chocolate covered strawberries. You can also make a batch of heart shaped sugar cookies, chocolate chip or peanut butter cookies decorated with a chocolate kiss, or even your favorite brownie recipe.

The Gift Of Your Time

One of the most precious gifts we can give these days is our time. With our many obligations, we often don't spend as much time as we'd like to with loved ones. Take an afternoon or even a whole day off and spend it together. Go to a movie, grab some lunch, take a walk together or do anything else the two of you enjoy. Cook dinner together and then snuggle up on the couch to watch a good movie. It doesn't really matter what you do as long as you make an effort to spend this special time together.

Menu Mailer - Make Dinner Easier

For an inexpensive gift that keeps giving all year long, make dinner easier with a menu mailer. Wouldn't it be nice to get a list of dinner ideas along with the recipes and a pre-made grocery list? With all the planning already done for him or her, the two of you will have more time to enjoy each other's company each night.

By Natalie Aranda

Valentine’s Day is globally accepted as the special day for expressing love towards the special people. It has become hugely popular among all the sections of the society. And people of all ages are joining in on the day’s celebrations with enthusiasm.

To make the occasion more special, it is a very novel idea to exchange gifts. Even though it can be indeed a tough task to come up with varied gift ideas, flowers for ages have played the role of a perfect gift. Flowers represent eternal beauty and thus can be an apt expression for love.

How to make the choice

Valentine’s day gift should be as special as the day itself. The choice of the Valentine’s Day gift should be done rationally. The flowers perfectly suit the occasion and the atmosphere to the tee. It is very necessary to keep few things in mind while making the choice of the flower. The primary thing to look out for is the nature of the flowers. The receiver must like the flowers selected.

Keeping in mind the nature of the occasion, the flower chosen should be very vibrant in color. If the flower imparts good fragrance then it will add to the essence of the occasion. Flowers are often considered as feminine so it can be the perfect Valentine’s for wife.

There are few popular choices among the flowers. And to make the valentine’s gift presentation even more special, present the flowers with candy or another special gift. Popular flowers to give in February for this event are:

• Roses
• Carnations
• Tulips
• Daffodils
• Hyacinths
• Tuberoses
• Freesias

To choose, consider what the recipient likes; favorite colors and scents (some are stronger than others), size (will they go in a small area or a large empty dining room). Ask the florist for help.

Five Tips to Keep Your Valentine's Day Romantic Feelings Going Strong Year-Round

By Felicia Slattery

Ah, Valentine's Day. The flowers. The candy. The cards. The fancy schmancy dinner in a "nice" restaurant. Sharing one decadent dessert with two forks. The romance. The soft music. The candlelight that makes everyone look amazing. How wonderful.

Then comes the rest of the year. After the flush of romance on Valentine's Day, most couples soon forget the sweet sentiments on the cards they exchanged and fall quickly back into their routines, which while somewhat necessary, can lead to boredom and stagnation in the relationship in a hurry.

To avoid falling into that boredom and stagnation in your relationship, try taking an approach written about by Bill O'Hanlon, author of Do One Thing Different. Change one aspect of your relationship and notice how powerful even a small, seemingly inconsequential change can be. According to O'Hanlon, "Although not everything is in your control, you do have the power to make your life better. The smallest changes in your life can move you in the right direction."

Here are some some small things you can change about your relationship that will keep those Valentine's Day romantic feelings going all year long. By the way, many of these tips are inexpensive or even free, so they work for even the tightest budgets!

Send each other free e-cards or virtual flowers on a regular basis. Websites like www.Hallmark.com and www.VirtualFlorist.com have developed a great way to have potential on-line customers experience their business: by offering free products delivered via email. Another plus is these services offer a wide variety of options to choose from, so you can send a funny or sentimental card or a photo of a beautiful bouquet or a fat-free box of virtual chocolates!

Start and end each day with the words, "I love you." By making this simple but profound expression of your feelings on a regular basis, your partner will continue to be reminded just how important s/he is to you.

Create a standing date that you never miss, regardless of life's circumstances. Decide what is important for you. You can read the Sunday paper in bed together while you enjoy coffee or tea together. You can go to church and breakfast together every Sunday morning. You can open a bottle of wine each Friday night after work and share your favorite moments from the week. Think of something you can do even if you are on vacation or other life events come up. You'll soon find yourselves looking forward to these special intimate moments.

Begin a "love journal." Write notes for each other in a book that you leave for the other to find: on his pillow, at her place at the dinner table, on the driver's seat of his car, in her bedroom closet. What would you write? Anything at all! Share your thoughts about an upcoming holiday, describe in vivid detail how you felt when you first met, re-live a moment from your honeymoon, explain your position about a recent disagreement, write a list of the top 10 things you love about each other. Whatever you can dream up, you can write in your love journal. Remember that the purpose is to draw you closer together.

Thank your spouse regularly. By offering a simple verbal thank you reminds your spouse that you do not take everything s/he does for granted. When he prepares a delicious meal, thank him for it. When she works long hours at the office to land a big client, thank her for working so hard. When he takes out the garbage, when she pays the bills - make sure your spouse knows how grateful you are by saying so.
What ideas can you think of that would work for injecting more romance into your everyday life? Remember, all you need to do is change one small thing to soon notice some big rewards. So instead of only having to look forward to the flush of romance Valentine's Day offers, you can have the entire year look forward to!

Romantic Gifts For Valentine's Day

By Barry Ohman

Valentine's Day that special day February 14 is soon to be upon us again and have you gotten something special for that lady in your life. Romantic Gifts are a sure way of letting that special lady in your life know that you care enough for her on Valentine's Day.

There are so many different Romantic Gifts that you may purchase, but first you must know what that special lady really appreciates. I guess you should already know what she likes and dislikes, otherwise she wouldn't be that special lady in your life.

If she is one that has a sweet tooth while then maybe Gourmet Chocolates are her preference and you should be able to purchase those online or locally at your favorite chocolate shop. Remember that Valentine's Day is a special occasion, so make sure that they are quality chocolates and not just the run of the mill store bought quality.

Flowers are definitely another way to get her attention if she is one who loves to receive flowers, especially a dozen red roses which I am sure will get her attention. If that special lady and you are having a long distance relationship, sometimes the easiest is to order flowers online and have them delivered to her at her home.

Perfumes and Jewelry are other Romantic Gifts that you may give that special lady on Valentine's Day. Whether it may be perfume or jewelry that you get her, make sure that you choose either that is of quality for a perfume or say for jewelry a nice pendant with chain or bracelet.

For the perfect Romantic Gift you could get that special lady something sexy like some exotic lingerie. I am sure that that special lady would like to wear something seductive for you on Valentine's Day and what a better way than to get her something ahead of time.

You must remember that for your special lady Valentine's Day is not the only special day in her life. There are those other days of the year that are just as important to her as they should be to you if you honestly love her and they include her birthday, your anniversary, Christmas and maybe a few others.

My name is Barry Ohman and my wife and I have started our first online dating website. As we met on the internet, we thought we would start our own online dating website which is called http://www.online-dating-advisors.com

Guys-Valentine's Day Will Be Heaven Or Hell For You

By Andrew Jamaz

Guys, I know it's not fashionable to get ahead of yourself for holidays. I don't buy Christmas gifts until the last minute and I find that actually makes it more fun... weaving in and out of frantic people weighed down by kids and hundreds of shopping bags. I just make a bee-line for what I need to buy, grab it, and head for the "ten items or less" checkouts. Easy peasy. Christmas shopping done in 10 minutes... guy style. :-)

But, here's a big tip guys... don't leave shopping for a Valentine's gift until the last minute. It's a mistake of galactic proportions. If the shop happens to be sold out of the specific fragrance your significant other desires, you may as well move into the dog-house and board it up from the inside. :-)

There's not much you can do to buy flowers in advance... perhaps that's why flowers seem to double in price the week before Valentine's Day... so make sure you put a "post it" note reminder on your monitor, keyboard, bathroom mirror, fridge door and each bottle of beer in the fridge so that you remember to have flowers delivered on Valentine's Day. Even better, try going online weeks beforehand and book the flowers to be delivered on Valentine's Day. You could even book the flowers in January and then you won't have to remember to write yourself post-it notes. :-)

So, book the flowers early, be sure to get the exact fragrance she wants before the shops run out, get a nice card and READ it! You'd be amazed at how many guys pay no attention to what's written inside the card... it's about the same percentage as women who DO read the inside of the card carefully... they like scrutinizing every line for hidden messages! At the very least, make sure the message is suitable for your relationship. :-)

If you want to add icing to the cake, buy some nice chocolates. You can get them months in advance if you like. Women love chocolates, but usually try not to buy chocolates for themselves because they're worried about putting on weight. Luckily, chocolates they receive can be eaten guilt-free, which is why they make excellent gifts!

OK, so now you've got every base covered. You're all set for Valentine's Day, and it's still January! Time to put your feet up, relax and look forward to having a happy girlfriend or wife on February 14th. :-)

10 Kid-Friendly Valentine Gift Ideas from the Heart

With February 14th just around the corner there’s no better time than now to start thinking about creative ways to express your affection.

This Valentines Day take a few minutes out of your busy schedule and surprise your children with something that speaks volumes about how much they’re loved.

All you need is a few supplies, a couple of different sized ‘heart’ cookie cutters and lots of imagination.

Send a Secret Valentine

Cut a heart shape out of white construction paper. Write a message in white crayon. Then put the heart in an envelope along with a note explaining to your child that she needs to paint the valentine red for the words to appear. Go one step further and drop it in the mail.

Start Your Morning Off With Some “I Love You” Toast

Instead of ordinary toast make French or ‘toaster’ toast special by cutting the bread with a large cookie cutter. Top your bread ‘hearts’ with strawberry syrup or jam.

Make Heart-Shaped Sandwiches

By Sherrie Le Masurier

Spread strawberry jam on one slice of bread then cut a heart shape out of a second slice. When you put the two slices together you have a beautiful red heart jam sandwich.

Pour a Secret Love Potion

Add a little cranberry juice or red food colouring to your children’s apple juice and drop in some ice cubes made of the same liquid. Toss a few cinnamon hearts into each ice cube section before you put the mixture into the freezer. Or simply add a few cinnamon hearts to a bowl of apple sauce.

Hide “I Love You” Coupons

Surprise your kids with heart-shaped coupons tucked under their pillow or under their dinner plates. Ideas could include: an impromptu tickle fest, an extra storybook reading, a back rub, a cookie baking session, a movie and some cuddle time on the couch etc.

Prepare Some ‘Love’ Pasta

Serve spaghetti noodles shaped into a big heart with a tomato sauce centre and heart-shaped garlic toast. Cut heart shapes out of several pieces of white bread. Spread on a little butter mixed with some garlic powder, Parmesan cheese and some dried Parsley. Broil until brown.

Make a Heart-Shaped Pizza

Creatively work your dough into a heart shape and top with pepperoni or salami hearts made from sandwich slices.

Hugs & Kisses (Hershey style)

Purchase a bag of Hershey Hugs and a bag of Hershey Kisses and go wild hiding them all over your home. Attach love notes or clues as to where more can be found.

Give a ‘Krispie’ Kiss

Mix up a batch of Rice Krispie squares but instead of using a pan, mould the rice cereal mixture with the aid of funnel coated with butter or margarine. Depending on the size of funnel used you should be able to make between six and twelve Rice Krispie kisses. To resemble a Hershey’s Kiss, wrap in foil and insert a little note that sticks out a little from the top.

Serve Up Some Heart-Shaped Brownies

Make up your favorite brownie recipe but instead of cutting into small squares cut into hearts. Enjoy all the little leftover pieces yourself – I won’t tell.

Remember the most cherished gifts are usually the ones which are given from the heart not the pocketbook. Be creative and have fun. If nothing else, I hope the above suggestions have inspired some fun ideas of your own. Happy Valentines Day!
